Father Feeds His Child to Raccoons
Alright. So the child is feeding the racoons with the help of his father. However his father is a complete moron for putting the child in a potentially dangerous situation. Raccoons can be quite fiesty. Should parenting require a common sense test?

This father is brilliant. The kid is having a wonderful, memorable LOW RISK adventure. This is not an enclosure containing a lion, bear, alligator or other life-threatening animal. It's a racoon. The worst outcome will be that the kid gets bitten. Painful, but not life-threatening.
Taking risks is part of childhood. Getting hurt is not the end of the world. Parenting isn't, and shouldn't be, about eliminating every possible danger. Kids need to know that they can take risks, and that they can get hurt as a result, and that they can survive it.
I have a wonderful memory from when I was four. My father let me stand on his shoulders so I could pet a camel over the fence at the zoo. I leaned over hugged it, and got bitten on the shoulder. I yelled, and later had a bruise. I also got my dad to lift me up again, so I could feed the camel half of my peanut butter sandwich.
